So it went...

... something like this.

'You should really consider coming back to Delhi with me and having Rajesh look at your bike'.

'No, I real don't want to. It will take days out of my schedule. I really don't want to go to Delhi with all the traffic and hassle'.

'Ben, you engine is fucked. You are burning oil. You are loosing power. You have petrol in your exhaust. Your clutch plates are fucked, you cant find neutral. Your seat is twisted. Your back break is terrible. I think you should take your bike back, or maybe have my bike'.

I felt Dan was really criticising Carmen, and felt really defensive of her.

'But I like my bike. I'm used to it. If I can drive it round here, then I can drive it anywhere. I'll find an engineer to service it somewhere'.

'Ben, these are problems that cant be fixed by a new air filter or change of oil. The engine is on its way out. A mechanic on the side of the road cant fix these things. I really think you should come back to Delhi with me. Your bike wont do what you need it to do'.

'But.....'

'Mate, if we were bike in the UK, I wouldn't even lend you that bike, let alone hire it'.

So I found myself agreeing to come back to Delhi with Dan.
